Sirica’s disruptive new technology for infrared imaging is an all-silicon, all-optical solution that works in tandem with a standard CMOS/CCD sensor to produce infrared images at a fraction of the cost of existing night-vision technologies.

Sirica has developed a novel technique for the production of an infrared-to-visible light converter, to be integrated with a silicon-based commercial CMOS/CCD sensor for the manufacturing of the ultimate IR detector—at a price that will compare favorably to sensors/imagers now used in common digital ‘daytime’ cameras.

Sirica’s innovative technology is a radical departure from all state-of-the-art infrared imaging technologies. Currently-available detectors convert IR photons to electrons; Sirica’s device converts IR photons to visible photons. This unique approach yields significant operational advantages to IR applications engineers and end-users, including:

All-silicon solution – Si-based infrared-to-visible light converter, shifting infrared wavelengths to the visible range, allowing the use of convenient CMOS/CCD sensors with:
No cooling
No vacuum
Low noise
Very low cost

All-optical solution – covering a wide infrared spectral range including 3-5µm and 8-14µm, enabling:
Multiple bands
Continuously selectable with optical tunability

Completely passive imaging device that operates in:
Total darkness
Fog and haze
Dust and smoke
